I have visited well over 60 islands of Scotland and I have graded these with a difficulty rating. This has been created by me to show how difficult (or easy) it can be to visit islands of Scotland. For example, I have given the Isle of Cumbrae a difficulty rating of 1, as it is one of the easiest islands to get to on the west coast. I have given the island of Gometra a difficulty rating of 6, because you would have to hike across the Isle of Ulva to get there. I have given the Isle of North Rona a difficulty rating of 10 as you can only land when certain sea conditions are correct and you would either have to hire a boat to get there or take part in an organised trip or tour. These rating are subjective and are my own opinion.
